2019 WEDNESDAY NIGHT Rules
1. Must have valid Illinois fishing license.
2. Must hand in a copy of your current up to date insurance prior to the first Wednesday tournament. NO EXCEPTIONS. You will be required to sign a waiver before the first tournament. Blarney Bassmasters reserves the right to post pictures taken during the tournament for marketing purposes.
3. This is a 20 week program with a weekend one day “classic” at the end. In order to be eligible for the “classic” you must fish a minimum 15 of the 20 weeks. You are permitted the use of one full buy-in. Throughout the season, teams are permitted the use of 3 subs and 3 fish alones. You may only fish the classic with your partner or another member that has also qualified to fish. Fishing alone for the championship is permitted but must be cleared with tournament director prior to the event.

- $35 Membership Fee (this covers both Wednesday and weekend tournaments).
- Take off position will be drawn at 4:15 pm each boat will receive a take-off card number, please wait your turn to get in line for take-off and hold your take-off card so people can see it.
- Depart from Port of Blarney (Ackerman’s Channel) at 4:30pm.
- Live well check will be performed before you enter the water.
- Weigh in times will be announced prior to take-off, you will be disqualified for being late, no excuses. You must have your take-off card to the trailer by check-in time! At this time you must declare the number of fish you are weighing. If you come to the scale with more fish than you’ve declared, you will be disqualified.
- Release boats will be announced at the pre-tournament meeting. If you are a release boat, you must stay and assist.
- 5 fish limit, 14” inch minimum length. No smallmouth can be weighed until June 15th. Per state law, if an person is fishing alone, only 3 smallmouth can be possessed and brought to the scale. If a short fish is brought to the scale, you will be disqualified.
- A 1lb penalty will be incurred for a dead fish. No dead fish will count toward the Big Bass pot
- Any protest must be submitted prior to weigh-in.
- 6. Off limits:
- Long Lake
- Any gas docks.
- In front of Port of Blarney- The entire open area where we launch is off limits, to the East until the sharp turn and to the West where the open area narrows down to a channel.
- If you intend to fish the back of Ackerman’s Channel at take-off you must go out to the end of the channel, turn around, and head back to Ackerman’s Channel
- If a scheduled tournament falls during a no-wake high water level on the Chain the tournament will be cancelled and all members will get credit for that tournament as part of the 7 and 7 requirement
- Cell phones are prohibited during tournament hours for the purposes of catching or locating fish.
- You are not allowed to pass another competitor in a no-wake area
- Follow speed limit at dusk, 25 MPH
- Make sure your lights are in working order, if you run your boat without them it will result in an immediate DQ
- If you are a release boat when you come to weigh in keep your lights on so people know which boats are release boats.
- Release Boats - please release fish ONLY in the middle of Grass Lake or the middle of Nippersink Lake
- Absolutely no alcohol/drugs is permitted in your boat during a tournament no exceptions, if caught will result in an immediate DQ
- No fishing while main engine is running
- No trolling is allowed.
- Minimum length 16 feet
- Minimum HP 25
- Must have tether kill switch in working order. Tether must be attached to driver while gas motor is running. (Updated 4/21/19)
- Must have operating and recirculating live well
- Tiller steering is allowed
9. Registration will start at 3pm
- Must have season pass or pay daily launch fee. Please be extremely respectful of this - Port of Blarney provides us with a great facility and venue.
- Check in time will be announced prior to take-off.

- 100 points will be rewarded for 1st place, 97 points for 2nd place, 94 for 3rd place, and so on until 20th place. All teams after 20th place (as long as you do not get disqualified) with receive 40 points for coming to the tournament.
- Ties will be broken by number of fish, then big bass weight, then by a coin toss.
